| Well this week was quite uneventful work-wise. Did find out that Laurie Douglas will be our new Team Manager come the new year since Frank (my current manager) is retiring. Fun-wise it was nice. Wednesday my team had a White Elephant Gift exchange with a pot luck. Great food. Today we went for our quarterly Off-Site to Karl Strauss Brewery Restaurant in Sorrento Valley. I've never been there before, but they have a beautiful Japanese garden with huge Koi and a very sleepy bird in the trees haha. Food was pretty good. Got to go home after 1pm-so you can't beat that. Can't believe this year is coming to an end already-another year come and gone. Although with all the shit that has happened this year, I am happy to start a new one-provided some things get settled soon in the new year. Staying hopeful on that. But in retrospect, this year did have it's Ups, including most of my family meeting Brian for the first time and it's so great that he's accepted into my family. Bringing him home for New Years will be so exciting. Just hope that it doesn't get ruined by someone else. But I highly doubt it. Now he can see my Japanese New Year traditions, since I was able to be apart of his this past year.
Training for the coming week: Monday: I've been selected to be 1 of 2 Specialists for Quick Determination Decisions (QDD) claims and will have training on the adjudication of these types of claims at 9:30am. Wednesday: A time honored tradition for me, training the new trainees on the Occubrowse system for Job descriptions in the national economy (since I've done this training for the past 2 years). Friday: Was asked today by one of the Training Assistants to aid in her training class for Transferable Skills to other Jobs in the national economy. So I'll be there as a back up to help the trainees in using Occubrowse or the Denver DOT for Vocational lab training. Should be fun.
Hectic but fun...and that means the week will fly by quickly--which in turn equals the week after coming fast. Brian comes down to SD on the 18th! YAY! First time seeing him in about 2.5 months.

| So...my Dad came down this weekend to visit and help me to set up my Aussie Aquarium too, since that sucker had to be bolted into the wall! Got a new car battery since mine has finally decided to die after 7 years-yup running 7 years strong on the same stock battery. We also went to see "We Own the Night" Saturday, which was actually a decent movie. Ending could have been better, one worth seeing. "Transformers" comes out Tuesday 10/16, so I'll be at Target picking up a copy. See below for some pix of my aquarium-I'll be getting some more fish later, but you're not supposed to put too many in at one time. So I have 5 for now: Silver & Golden Lyre tail Mollies, a Black Molly, 2 Long-finned Zebra Danios, and an Upside-down Cat fish (my most expensive fish-$5.99) LoL.
